Flooring installation and repair in Spokane Valley, WA
Hardwood in oak, maple and cherry, laminate, tile, vinyl and luxury vinyl plank, carpet, and repairs to floors you already have.
Chapter 01
A floor is only as good as what is under it, and what it meets
Choosing a floor feels like choosing a surface: a species of wood, a colour of tile, a pattern of plank. The decisions that decide whether you still like it in five years are the less glamorous ones. How flat is the surface underneath? Where does the new floor end, and what does it meet at the doorway? Is this material the right one for this particular room, with its traffic, its spills and its moisture?
Floors fail in familiar ways. A board that moves where the subfloor is not flat. A tile that cracks over a spot nobody checked. A seam that catches the light down the whole length of a hallway. A transition strip that trips people for years because two rooms ended at different heights. None of these are exotic. They are what happens when a floor is installed fast and looked at only from above.
Every flooring job at Recommended Remodeling starts with a thorough consultation about the room, how you use it and your budget, then a detailed plan before work begins. We customize the scope to fit any budget and vision, and pricing comes after that plan, never before it.

Five kinds of floor, installed by the team that finishes the rest of the room
Recommended Remodeling installs hardwood in oak, maple and cherry, laminate, tile in ceramic, porcelain and natural stone, vinyl and luxury vinyl plank, and carpet. The same team handles the framing, drywall, cabinets and electrical updates in a remodel, so the floor goes into a room it has seen built, not one it has to guess at.
That matters most in the rooms that combine trades. In a bathroom, tile or vinyl plank is laid after the shower, vanity and fixtures are planned together. In a kitchen, tile, hardwood or vinyl is installed with the cabinets and counters in mind, so the floor and the cabinet line agree. In a basement, flooring is chosen with the lower level in mind, with carpet, vinyl and hardwood all in the mix and moisture a deciding factor.
Chad Peetz, the owner, is personally on site for every project in Spokane Valley and the surrounding Spokane area. He is the one who checks the layout before the first board or tile goes down, and who walks the finished floor with you at handoff.
Chapter 03
Repairing the floor you already have, and when to call
Not every floor needs replacing. Recommended Remodeling also repairs flooring, which can be the right answer when the rest of the floor is sound and one area has let you down. It is worth a call when a tile has loosened or cracked, when a plank has lifted at an edge, when the carpet has worn through in the traffic path, or when a hardwood floor has taken damage in one spot.
A repair also tells you something. If a damaged area keeps coming back, the cause is usually underneath, and a repair that ignores the cause will be repeated. When Chad looks at a floor, he is looking for the reason as well as the damage, and will tell you plainly whether a repair will hold or whether the better answer is to replace more of the floor.
To talk it through, call 509-464-9873 or send a few lines about the room. We will start with a consultation, then a detailed plan, whether the job is one repaired area or a whole new floor from room to room.
Chad Peetz owns Recommended Remodeling and is personally on site for every project, floors included. Call 509-464-9873, Monday to Sunday, 7:00 am to 8:00 pm.

What to weigh
Baths
Tile or vinyl plank
Water gets here first. Tile and vinyl plank are the floors Recommended Remodeling replaces in bathrooms, and the layer under them gets as much attention as the surface.
Kitchens
Tile, hardwood or vinyl
The hardest-working floor in the house: dropped pans, spills, constant foot traffic. The choice also decides how the floor meets the cabinets and the next room.
Basements
Carpet, vinyl or hardwood
Lower levels ask for moisture-aware choices, so the material is picked for the room it is going into, not just the look of the sample.
Bedrooms
Carpet, hardwood or laminate
Quiet, warm underfoot and easy to live with. Carpet softens the room, while hardwood and laminate keep it clean and bright.
Hallways
Hardwood, laminate or plank
Long straight runs show every wavy line and every mismatched seam, so layout and where the boards start matter more than in any other room.
Finished floors
Plank, hardwood and slate in finished rooms.
